TEXT: Psalm 145:1-7
PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy
Psalm 145:1-7
1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.
7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.
Wisdom is being able to correctly use information or knowledge acquired via the word of God to make good decisions.
Trans-generational means something that is transmitted across generations.
Trans-generational wisdom is the sharing and transmission of experiences and knowledge of whom God is from one generation to another generation.
Exodus 3:6 reveals that God is a God of many generations. Without generational wisdom, there is no generational blessing.
Exodus 3:6
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
Trans-generational blessing is grace that is passed on across generations.
What wisdom are you passing to the younger generation? Is it the earthly, selfish, devilish or Godly wisdom? (James 3:15-17)
James 3:15-17
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Hosea 4:6 says “my people perish for lack of knowledge……”. The generation of Joshua lost in the span of a single generation despite it was a generation that witness miraculous signs and wonders. (Judges 2: 7-10)
