TEXT: Isaiah 25:9.
PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy
Isaiah 25:9.
9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
God encourages us as believers to hold fast our faith in him in times of want and hardship. God’s promises are sure, and his salvation is worth the wait. We are to live with the attitude of gratitude and joy, celebrating God’s faithfulness and fulfilment of his promises.
What are the promises God has fulfilled that birthed our celebration?
He has terminated trouble and the troubler (Exodus 15:11, Psalm 3:3).
Exodus 15:11
11 Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Psalm 3:3
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
He has destroyed the siege of financial captivity (Eph 4:7-8, Eph 3:20)
Eph 4:7-8
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Eph 3:20
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
He depopulated hell and enlarged heavens (Isaiah 2:2-4).
Isaiah 2:2-4
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
He gave us a new beginning to rise and shine for his kingdom (Isaiah 60:1-3).
