SEASON OF ADVANCEMENT

TEXT: Psalm 119:105
PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

What is a Season?
A season is a period when particular things happen.

What is Advancement?
Advancement means progress or improvement.
Therefore, the phrase “season of advancement” means a period of progress, growth or improvement.
You can be moving without actually making any meaningful progress just like the Isrealites’ (Deut. 2:3)
Deut. 2:3
3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

WHAT MUST I DO TO FIT INTO THIS SEASON OF ADVANCEMENT
Go for the logos (word of God) Psalm 119:105.
Psalm 119:105
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Just as a lamp provides direction in darkness, the word of God shows us the way forward
100% obedience to the voice of the spirit. (Genesis 26:2-6, 12 and 13)

Genesis 26:2-6, 12 and 13
2 And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
Genesis 26:12-13
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.
13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

Seek for knowledge (Proverb 18:15)
Proverb 18:15
15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

Embrace challenges (1Sam 17): Challenges are part of the process to attain advancement. David faced Goliath before he became a King.

Hardwork (Genesis 2:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:10)
Genesis 2:15,
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
