TEXT: Mathew 19:26
PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Joy is a deep sense of gladness and peace that comes from God, regardless of circumstances.
Joy is a gift from God and a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22)
Gal 5:22
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Joy is produced by the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer, not dependent on external conditions.
True joy is found in God’s presence, not in worldly possession or achievements. A merry heart is like a medicine (Psalm 16:11).
Psalm 16:11
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Just as God makes impossible things possible, He gives us joy when it seems impossible. The Holy Spirit empowers us to raise above circumstances.
How do I walk in Spirit Birthed Joy?
Joy is rooted in salvation. A believer’s joy comes from knowing they are saved and loved by God (Isaiah 61:10)
Isaiah 61:10
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Hold unto God’s faithfulness even in trails (James 1:2-3). Biblical joy is not based on circumstances but on God’s faithfulness. Job joy was tested, but his trust in God remained firm. Job 19:25
James 1:2-3
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Job 19:25
25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Have a relationship with God (John 15:11). The deeper our relationship with Jesus, the greater our joy
John 15:11
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Always be in God’s presence (Psalm 16:11)
