TEXT: Isaiah 54:1-3
PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy
Have you ever felt stuck, empty, overlooked, or limited? God’s word to you today is that help is here. And when God’s helps, He doesn’t just restore what was lost- He gives bigger and better.
The story of Job is a powerful example of how God’s help became ” bigger and better”- not only restoring what was lost but increase it beyond what he originally had.
The “Bigger and Better” Help of God in Job’s Life
A. Double Portion Blessing: God elevated him beyond his original state.
(Job 1:3 vs Job 42:12)
Job 42:12
12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
Before: 7,000 sheep and After: 14,000
Before: 3,000 camels and After: 6,000
Before: 500 yoke of oxen and After: 1,000
Before: 500 donkeys and After: 1,000
B. Restored Family
He had 10 more children, and his daughters were called the most beautiful in the land (Job 42:13–15).
Job 42:13–15
13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.
14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.
15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
They received an inheritance — rare for daughters in that era, showing a new level of favor and justice.
C. Long Life and Honor
“After this, Job lived 140 years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.” (Job 42:16)
Job 42:16
16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.
He not only lived long but enjoyed peace, restoration, and generational legacy.
WHY DO WE NEED GOD’S HELP?
Men are Limited. Ps. 103: 14-16
Psalm 103:14-16
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
