TEXT: 1 Samuel 15:22
PREACHER: Pastor Timothy Bodunrin
What is Blessedness?
Blessedness simply means a state of happiness, joy, peace and favour that comes from God.
[Psalm 1:1] A blessed person lives the right way. That is, God’s blessings rest upon us when we live according to His will.
What is Obedience?
Obedience is acting on illustrations given without arguing, delaying or changing it. The account of Saul in 1 Samuel 15 reveals that Saul partially obeyed God and this led to the end of his reign.
Obedience to God’s Words prove that we love, trust and honour Him.
When this is proven, it leads to blessings. [Deuteronomy 28: 1-7]
WHAT ARE THE BLESSINGS OF OBEDIENCE?
1️⃣ Prosperity/Success (Joshua 1:8, Job 36:11)
2️⃣ Promotion and Honour (1 Samuel 18:14)
David obeyed God and was promoted from shepherd to king.
3️⃣ Fulfilment of God’s promises (Genesis 22: 16-18)
4️⃣ God’s Presence/Favour (Genesis 39: 2-3)
5️⃣ Provision and Supply (1 Kings 17: 5-6)
Elijah obeyed God to stay by the brook and God fed him.
