TEXT: Matthew 22:9
PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy
Jesus often used parables to explain the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. In Matthew 22, He tells a powerful story about a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. Everything was ready – the food, the venue, the celebration. But those invited refused to come. Today, I ask you a personal question: Are you ready for the Kingdom of God?
Matthew 22:4 reminds us that God has prepared everything. Salvation, grace, forgiveness, eternal life—it’s all been made ready through Jesus Christ.
Like the king in the parable, God has sent His servants—prophets, apostles, pastors, and even ordinary believers—to invite everyone.
Isaiah 55:1 says, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters…”
” The invitation is open to all, regardless of background. You’ve been invited to the greatest celebration in eternity.
Have you responded?
The answer is either “Yes” or “No”.
Today, many are too busy for God. Careers, entertainment, comfort, and personal pursuits often come before spiritual matters.
Luke 14: 18-20 gives another picture of excuses: “I bought land… I bought oxen… I just got married…”
The Banquet Is Still Open – Will You Come?
In Matthew 22:9, the king says, a “Go to the highways and invite everyone you find.”
This shows God’s amazing grace. The door is still open. Even if others reject Him, you can accept the invitation.
Revelation 19:9 says, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”
Rejection Has Consequences
The king was angry that the guests rejected his invitation. The result was judgment.
God is loving, but He is also just. Rejecting the offer of salvation brings eternal consequences.
Hebrews 2:3 says, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?”
Don’t delay your response. Ignoring God’s call today could lead to regret tomorrow.
