BIG POSITIVE NEWS OF JOY

TEXT: Psalm 30:5

PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy

5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

The book of Ecclesiastic 3:1-4 reveals that life is full of ups and downs. We sometimes face moments of sorrow, pain, and uncertainty but Psalm 30:5 brings hope of joy to us as believers. Even when God punished His children in anger for transgressing, it is temporal but His favour and blessings last a lifetime.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

No matter how long a night is, it cannot last forever. No matter the hardship and trials we face, Jesus promised His joy will surface at the long run forever.
Even Jesus experienced sorrow in the garden of Gethsemane but the resurrection of Jesus is the proof that the suffering is followed by joy (Mathew 26:38-39, 28:9, 18)

Mathew 26:38-39,
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Mathew 28:9, 18
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Mathew 28:18
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

The morning represents new beginning, restoration and victory in Christ.
If you are in the season of weeping, trust God through your trials, remain faithful in the night and prepare in His promise of morning joy.

To receive the news of joy as mentioned in Psalm 30:5, you can follow these biblical principles:
Trust in God’s Promises: Trust that God’s joy will come after trials.
