TEXT: Daniel 7:9–11
PREACHER: Pastor Timothy Bodunrin
Daniel 7:9–11
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
What Is a Crown?
A crown is anything that makes people praise you. Your job, money, education, talent, or title is your crown.
A crown in a nutshell stands for:
✓Success
✓Honour
✓Achievement
✓Position
✓Wealth
✓Talent
On earth, kings wear crowns. But in heaven, no one keeps their crown before God.
Revelation 4:10 says the elders cast their crowns before God’s throne.
Revelation 4:10
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
When we praise God, we are saying:
“Lord, all these things came from You.”
What Does It Mean to Cast Our Crowns?
To cast your crown means to give God the glory for everything in your life.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above.” — James 1:17
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
When you praise God with your voice, your giving, your time, and your service, you are laying your crown at His feet.
What Does Bowing Down Mean?
Bowing down means showing respect and surrender.
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” — Psalm 95:6
When you bow, you are saying,
“God, You are higher than me.”
Praise Is Showing God That He Is Greater Than You
