PRAISE FOR VENGEANCE

TEXT: Psalm 94:1-5

PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy

Psalm 94:1-5

1 O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

3 LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

5 They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage

WHAT IS PRAISE?

Praise is lifting God up. It is the joyful recounting of what the lord has done. Exodus 15:11

Praise is the acknowledgement of all the wonderful and righteous deeds of God.

WHAT IS VENGEANCE?

Vengeance is the punishment melted out in response or retaliation for a wrong or offence.

Correlation between Praise and Vengeance

Psalm 149:6-7

The above scripture confirms that praise is a weapon of vengeance. That is, praise is a tool for delivery of vengeance upon the enemies of God and His children.

REASONS FOR VENGEANCE

Vengeance birthed our eternity (Heb 2:14)

Vengeance brings libration (Heb 2:15)

To silence the wicked (Psalm 7:9)

THE EFFICACY OF PRAISE

It delivers the sword of vengeance in our hand (2Chronicles 20:23)

It provokes God’s vengeance on our mockers (2Samuel 6: 16&23

Praise is a tool for the harvest of resources for God’s people. (2chronicle 20:25)

KEYS FOR EFFECTIVE VENGEANCE PRAISE

1) Praise God in the beauty of His holiness (2 Chronicles 20:21)

2) Praise Him with excitement from your heart.

3) Praising with dance (Psalm 149:3).
