THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS

TEXT: Revelation 19:10

PREACHER: Pastor Bodunrin Timothy

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

WHAT IS TESTIMONY?
A testimony is a statement of or declaration about something a person has experienced, witnessed, or believes to be true.
In biblical context, testimony is sharing what God has done in your life (Psalm 66:16). It is the demonstration of God’s faithfulness and power

Psalm 66:16
16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

Testimony strengthens the faith of others and glorify God (Psalm 22:22)
Psalm 22:22
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

According to revelation 19:10 ………“the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy”
The message of Jesus carries a prophetic nature, revealing God’s will and plan for salvation. Therefore, the testimony of Jesus is the message and truth about Jesus Christ, His life, death, resurrection, and His role as Saviour and king.

What are those truths about JESUS?
1. He lived an exemplary life
He showed love to all, including sinners, and had compassion on the hungry (Mathew 14:19-20)
Mathew 14:19-20
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

He walked in perfect obedience to God (Luke 22:42)
Luke 22:42
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

He lived a humble and servant hearted life (John 13:5)
John 13:5
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

He forgave sinners and taught others to forgive as well (Luke 23:24).
