TURNED THROUGH WORSHIP

TEXT: Matthew 15: 21-25, 28

PREACHER: Pastor Timothy Bodunrin

Worship is not only singing and clapping hands, but also an attitude of the heart.

True worship comes from the heart and is shown by actions.

In Matthew 15, the Scripture reveals that the woman that came to Jesus was rejected, ignored and tested, yet she refused to give up and caught Jesus’ attention through ‘WORSHIP’ (v. 25).

HER WORSHIP WAS HUMILITY, PERSISTENCE AND TOTAL DEPENDENCE.

BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF TRUE WORSHIP

1️⃣ Abraham Called the Place of Sacrifice Worship (Genesis 22:5)

2️⃣ Moses Worshipped Through Surrender (Exodus 3: 10-12)

3️⃣ Peter Forsook His Business to Follow Jesus (Matthew 19:27)

Worship is the act of giving God full control of your life – willingly surrendering your will – forsaking anything that completes with Him and obey Him completely because you trust Him.

WHAT GOD DOES WITH OUR WORSHIP

1. He accepts our person (Matthew 5: 23-24, Psalm 2:7)

2. He accepts our worship (Psalm 22:3)

3. God responds to our Worship (2 Chronicles 20:22)

4. God releases power through worship (Acts 16: 25-26)

5. God’s glory is revealed in worship (Isaiah 6: 1-3)

6. God heals through worship

HOW A LIFE IS TURNED THROUGH WORSHIP

① It Provokes God’s Intervention (Matthew 15:28)

② Worship Attracts Money

③ Worship Turns Shame into Testimony
