I WILL NOT LET YOU GO UNTIL YOU BLESS Me

‎TOPIC: I Will Not Let You Go Until You Bless Me
‎TEXT: Genesis 32:26
‎PREACHER: Pastor Timothy Bodunrin

‎26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

‎”I will not let you go until you bless me” means;
‎I refuse to leave God’s presence empty handed
‎I will pray until something Changes.
‎I will hold on until my life is transformed

‎What must you do to receive your blessings: Lesson from the life of Jacob
‎Separation (Gen 32:24)
‎24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
‎Sometimes God separates you from distraction to meet you. Not all relationships can carry you to the next level.
‎Separation unlocked clarity
‎Gen 13:14-15 reveals that God waited until the separation happened before he revealed the full promise
‎Gen 13:14-15
‎14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
‎15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

‎Refusing to let go in Prayer (Isaiah 62:7)
‎Isaiah 62:7
‎7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

‎Jacob held on until daybreak
‎Break through answers to those who refuse to give up (Luke 18:1)
‎18 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
‎Midnight prayers birth morning testimonies

‎Wrestle for the blessing (Eph 6:12)
‎Ephesians 6:12
‎12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
‎Jacob wrestled all right.
‎Some blessings are free; others must be contended for (Deut 2:24, 31)

‎Deuteronomy 2:24, 31
‎24 Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
‎31 And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.

‎Sacrifice (Gen 32:25)
‎Gen 32:25
‎25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

‎It cost Jacob his thigh to get hold of the blessing.
‎Your blessing may come with a sacrifice – but it will worth it

‎Be a new creature (2 Cor 5:17, Genesis 32:27-28)
‎Before Jacob was blessed, his identity was changed.
‎2 Cor 5:17,
‎17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
‎Genesis 32:27-28
‎27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
‎28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. ‎
